Planetfall Unboxings

Alistair Currie of the Brisbane City Crusaders Facebook page has been kind enough to provide pictures of some of the Planetfall Helixes just as he cracked them open.

As a Terran player I can’t support his radical and obviously misguided association with this force but I am nothing but fair (if I do say so myself) ūüôā

First up, the Rense System Navy Allied Assault Helix

Next the Dindrenzi Federation Aerial Interceptor Helix¬†(Boo..Hiss…)

and finally the Dindrenzi Federation Recon Assault Helix

Why someone would willingly assist these corrupt forces is beyond me but I’m not a judging person.

Hopefully Alistair will bring some of these to the table this weekend.

If you have some unboxing pictures you’d like to post, please drop us an email or leave a post on the Element 270 Facebook page.

Giant Stompy Robots Strike Back

We have previously seen the giant stompy robots released for the Prussians, Empire of the Blazing Sun and the Covenant of Antarctica (Peter even did an unboxing).

Now we see what Spartan have been working on – the giant stompy robots for the FSA and KoB! Boy – has it been worth the wait! These sculpts look fantastic!

Ok – so the FSA one is a skimmer, and has the potential to carry a gigantic rocket powered hammer. This sculpt is pretty darn spectacular.

Wow, ok, so this is Howl’s Moving Castle in a world where Howl loves nothing more than gigantic howitzers. This is a strange beast of a machine, but probably my favourite so far!

I absolutely cannot wait to see what the French and Russians have in their arsenals.

Dystopian Legions Update

Dystopian Legions has just had a big suite of updates, including updated ORBATs for the Kingdom of Britannia, Federated States of America, Prussian Empire and Empire of the Blazing Sun.

In addition to this there is a new FAQ, which covers off a huge range of questions from the forums, as well as providing some interesting twists to the system. Battlelog points, for example, are scored before the restore order step – meaning the accumulation of Shaken markers is going to have a significant impact on your ability to score points.

You can see the blog post on the Spartan Website here.

Also foreshadowed is the release of some fun optional rules!

The painting competition for Dystopian Legions also gets a mention!

The First Dystopian Legions Painting Competition

Helllo everyone,

First off I want to introduce myself, my name is Lorenzo Salden, also known as Projectmanhatten5 on the Spartan Games Community and today I’m proud to announce the first Dystopian Legions painting competition!¬†Together with Spartan Games and Giles, we have set up this competition and we are looking forward to a lot of painted forces from you guys. The competition already started and you are now allowed to send in pictures from your¬†Dystopian Legions force. Pictures can be send to me via my mail ( or via Facebook ( with the subject: Dystopian Legions Painting Competition. You can send in pictures until 1 December 2015.

After that the pictures will be uploaded and people can vote on the force they like the most. The voting will end on 31 December 2015 and the winner will be announced before the 10th of January and the prize will be send to the winner that same day. The prize is a 15 pound gift certificate for the Spartan Games Online store with an expiration date of 31 January 2016. The start of the voting will be announced on the Community and on the Element270 Facebook page.

The rule summary:
*Your painted force must at least contain 1 painted officer and 1 painted Line Section, you are allowed to add more sections to a maximum of 1 full platoon diagram (diagram can be found here: http://www.spartanga…oon-Diagram.pdf),Judging will be done on the quality of the painted miniatures, not the quantity of the miniatures.
*Pictures can be send to me until 1 December with a maximum of 5 pictures per person.
*You don’t have to start painting a new force, if you already have a painted force you can use them.
*There is no max size for the pictures but keep it normal (I don’t want poster size pictures :P)
*You force can posse in a background, scenery etc, but keep in mind that the voting is about the painting quality not the diorama you make with it.
*Composite pictures are allowed but with the following notification: you can send in 1-2 picture that is composite of your full force with some close ups, I allow it but don’t send in 5 pictures with 5 close ups each because that gives you more pictures in total and it won’t make it much easier for the voting.

If there are any questions about the competition don’t hesitate to ask them via a mail, Facebook, PM on the Community, post on the Community or as a reaction down below. The link to the community post is here for people who wane view that. Have fun painting everyone and I’m looking forward to see all your amazing forces.

Kind Regards,

The Marina Militare

Una flotta quasi bella come è veloce.  La flotta italiana è che una miscela di tecnologia superiore e veloci navi.

For those of you that can’t speak Italian (yes that includes me), what I said about is “A fleet almost as beautiful as it is fast. ¬†The Italian Fleet is a mixture of superior technology and fast ships.”

The biggest ship of the fleet is the Affondatore, Battle Carrier.

Next is the Mars Battleship.

The Gladius is a Light Cruiser with an MV of 10″

The Frigates are called Cinquedea; they have Elusive and Small Target MARs.

We discuss both the tournament itself, as well as try and give some helpful tips for those thinking of doing the same themselves.

We also take time at the end to run through the updated ORBATs for the Kingdom of Britannia and the Republique of France, covering the changes and what it means for those fleets.

Announced in October – Halo and Planetfall Goodies…

This month new releases have been announced for Halo – the long awaited giant ships!

These ships look exactly what it says on the tin Рmassive. The rules for how such massive ships function are already built into the rules book Рand they should be a lot of fun!

In Planetfall news we have a Ground Command Helix for each of the 6 core nations, and these comes with some beastly models! Have a close look for infantry manning guns left and right – I’m not sure life expectancy would be high among those crew!
